The organizing committee warmly invites you to participate in Electrochemistry for a Healthy Planet, the 6th Spring Meeting of the ISE to be held March 16 to 19, 2008 at The Mabu Thermas & Resort, in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. The Mabu Thermas and Resort is near the Iguaçu National Park, where the magnificent Iguaçu Falls are located, and some kilometers away from the Itaipu Dam, which feeds the world's largest operating hydroelectric power plant. The conference shall be structured in such a way that the concepts, developments and applications of electrochemistry that can contribute to keep our planet healthy shall be explored in depth. The conference program shall include keynote lectures, several invited speakers, contributed oral presentations along with informal poster sessions. The latter will enable participants to exchange ideas in a relaxed and informal fashion, favored by the Mabu Thermas & Resort pleasant and relaxing facilities. The United Nations has declared 2008 to be the International Year of Planet Earth (http://www.yearofplanetearth.org). We hope that you will be able to join us in Foz do Iguaçu for an exciting conference, to share with others your recent electrochemical ideas and results related to keeping Earth healthy.
